Apply for membership to the American Society of Forensic Podiatry. Follow the instructions below.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Download the application.
2. Fill in the form, including your request for membership in the appropriate category from the following:PROVISIONAL MEMBER: is the level an applicant enters the society, with the exception of a student member. The applicant must fulfill the following requirements to be promoted to an active member or an associate member:
- A minimum of 3 years clinical experience or employment by a governmental, judicial, or law enforcement agency.
- Attendance at one annual seminar of the Society.
- Contributions to the field including but not limited to lectures, membership in forensic organizations, authoring of specific articles related to pedal evidence, case work, or active involvement in law enforcement or judicial activities.
- A minimum of 8.0 contact hours with an Active member of the Society.
- Completion of an examination that shows basic competence in pertinent areas. Note: This requirement may be waived by the Board of Directors if the individual has shown his capability by other methods, etc.
ACTIVE MEMBER: A Doctor of Podiatric Medicine or comparable degree, who has an interest in the field of pedal evidence and may or may not be engaged partly or wholly in the field of forensic podiatric medicine, and has met various requirements as set forth by the board. Active Members shall have the right to vote.
ASSOCIATE MEMBER: An individual who is employed partly or wholly by a governmental, judicial or law enforcement agency wherein the majority of the case work involves pedal evidence and/or is relevant to the field of Forensic Podiatry. Associate Members shall have the right to vote.
STUDENT/RESIDENT MEMBER: An individual who is actively engaged in an undergraduate, graduate, or approved training program in podiatric medicine who has an interest in the field of pedal evidence. While having a Student/Resident classification, the individual will pay a lesser dues amount.
